Afraid your money might disappear into a black hole? Sent, and then… silence. No confirmation, no way to know where it is. When a transfer crosses borders, that silence shouldn’t be part of the deal. International payments. Nothing left in the dark. Few paintings have unsettled and fascinated in equal measure like Kazimir Malevich’s Black […]
From Babel to The Scream: MAGMA Launches “The Art of Payments”
What does Edvard Munch’s The Scream have in common with international payments?
Why can cross-border transactions sometimes appear as mysterious as Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa?
And what does Pieter Bruegel the Elder’s Tower of Babel reveal about the complexity of global business infrastructure?
MAGMA Finance is launching a new special project – The Art of Payments – a content series that explores the world of international business and cross-border payments through iconic masterpieces of world art.
Over the coming months, the project will feature seven episodes released every two weeks, each built around a legendary artwork and the business realities hidden behind it: uncertainty, transparency, trust, coordination, growth, complexity, and financial resilience.
The project combines art, business, and financial infrastructure into one narrative – showing that international payments aren’t just about transactions, but about emotions, systems, communication, and the ability to navigate an increasingly interconnected world.
The series begins with three globally recognized masterpieces:
- Pieter Bruegel the Elder’s Tower of Babel – a metaphor for the complexity of international business infrastructure, multiple systems, jurisdictions, and financial coordination.
- Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa – a symbol of hidden details and the mystery that can surround cross-border transfers and FX conditions.
- Edvard Munch’s The Scream – a reflection of the stress and uncertainty businesses often experience when dealing with delayed or unpredictable international payments.
Each publication will reinterpret famous artworks through the lens of modern international business – while also revealing the core values behind MAGMA Finance.
“The Art of Payments is not only about art history. It is about the emotions and challenges businesses experience every day when operating internationally. We wanted to create a project that speaks about financial infrastructure in a more human, visual, and memorable way.”
